50/50 for celly paint? Way to thick for anything more than a first coat. After that try using a 2k thinner i usually reduce the last wet coats to about 80/20 (thinner/paint) leaving about 10-15 mins between coats. The 2k thinner flashes off slower so you dont get dry spots and gives a far better shine than ordinary celly thinners.

Maybe that's why I didn't get such a good finish! I'll bear that in mind next time, when I have to do the Bootlid.

Forgot about that!!
Eastona,Put two coats mixed 50/50 first should be a dust coat second should be a full coat. After that start to wet the coats with more thinners till you get a nice smooth shine. 3-4 more coats should do it adding thinners each time. The first two dry coats allow the wet coats to cling and reduce the chance of runs and sags.

LINEARAUDIO I leave that to the wife. She would rather I do my painting there than in the kitchen.
I did brush Tekaloid on to stat with but now find Rustoleum and roller ohhh so much easier. Actually have bootlid in kitchen now, letting it warm up before I put last 2 coats on it.
