And - anyone that pays that price for that 'painting' has definitely lost the plot!

The whole point of this post Louise was to get complaints off of the open site, and submitted directly to those who can answer them. A process agreed by the Committee itself.
I agree entirely with the above process. The point I was making Bill was that the initial 'complaint' was raised by yourself and couldn't be answered other than by a member of the Committee so it seemed more appropriate to contact them directly for a response.

I totally agree with you Louise, and accept that for a variety of reasons I possibly over reacted. My sincere appologies to all concerned.
From now on I intend to steer clear of any controversial postings on this site, and simply continue to put my efforts into helping fellow Minor enthusiasts.
I will also continue to put to the committee any views expressed by Club members, but would ask once again that these be sent to me either by PM or email.
Thank you.

On a similar subject - There is a Mod on here who publicises a Morris Minor Repair/Spares Company on his profile notes - surely against the rules re Mods not publicising or favouring suppliers ?
If that means me, I'm obliged to put it on my sig. As I'm sure (in fact, I'm positive

) you know, rules is rules

Another Storm in a teacup!!
Why oh why are there so many episodes on this site!
Rules are rules but theres far too much rule ramming down of throats and face rubbing in them here.
Reason why im hardly on here. Offer pro rata services or help to other owners or reccomend a product and BANG you've broken the rules and every man and his dog will tell you about it! Suggest another service offers better products than one that has the club in its pocket and BANG you've broken the rules!
Makes me larf!!!

From my experience they'll just be telling you "thanks".
It has never ever (ever) been against the rules for an ordinary memember to make a recommendation to another member. Despite this being stated often enough, some choose to still 'have a go' about it. I'm baffled.
Rules?? Trader adverts are not allowed on the forum - it keeps the forum free for members to use as needed. Bun fights between members and traders should be handled between each other if possible. Allowing bun fights on the forum helps nobody and would risk the forum being closed.
than one that has the club in its pocket and BANG you've broken the rules!
unfair and unjustified. We implement the rules as fairly as humanly possible. Despite this - some people want their bun fights ;-) and anyway I'm not in anybody's pocket - I'm far to podgey to fit
Makes me larf!!!
People seem prone to fall out in any/every club - not just car clubs. Personally I don't larf as it's painful to watch.
Fortunately most members on the forum are here to help each other rather than sling accusations, so the site is still the best resource around.
