Must have been an uphill struggle getting girls anywhere near an Avenger!!
But then the competition was Chevettes and Allegro's. My mate was always a bit above us- he passed his test and went out and bought a brand new Alfasud Ti. We just gave up all hope at that point  As for the big valve head he soon had put on it- adding insult to injury!!

Ive though about a center console before but never really had the chance to develop an idea, who knows maybe its becouse my interior consists of only a rusty floor. Ill definatly be watching your progress on this, v intrested to see hot it goes.

You are impatient Marky B.......just for you!

Overall it was too long and kept hitting my legs on it,dip switch a problem and my bloody arthritis, thats why i put moggy up for sale.
Image
Thanks MarkC.
Definitely food for thought there.
I never pictured it coming so far towards the handbrake. Don't your fingers get trapped when you release it?
The dip switch is definately going to be an issue.
How are you planning to attach it?

Theres no fooling you! it is too far back, however, the new improved mk2 version is shorter and more stubby,it does not need attaching as it sits nicely over the gearstick and snuggly hugs the sides..please be aware this item will be patented.

The reality is it is probably destined for the tip! keep you informed!!

Scary- looks just like the front of my old one. I remember the aggro getting the upward taper right on the "front panel" bit even now! My one did extend back and up into an armrest/cubby hole. Just to get you thinking about the mk3 version.. Keep up the good work!

That gives me a great idea for a center coonsole. my idea it would go straight to the back for a armest for people in the back, allthough this ould make it stricklya four seater. Could aim for the luxury view of things. Allthough im not going to exsperiment with the iidea until my mogg is finished, at the moment i have no seats in it :p. Oh yea not to mention i would put a pretty steep dip where the handbrake is to make it operable.

Also i would use the the painted metal for the trim of it, the same type at the interior dash bored is.

Looks good.
How did you construct it?
Is the square part over the gear lever actually attached?
Also what have you done with the heater outlet?
So many questions :)

Looks good doesn't it? but its not very practical.I made it out of hardboard, fablon and some 6x6 ml wood from handymans.

It sits over the gearstick, heater blows on it and you can't reach the dipper, its a snug fit and secured with velcro,i don't mind because i don't use mog at night.

Had a few comments about it from my mates though!

I rescued this from the skip at the local garage. It was rubbish to them so I got it for free. I think it is a Mini one. I have roughly fitted it to the Mog and its not far off a good fit. It'll need some fettling but I think it is doable. Also, my radio fits nicely in there too :-)
