glad you like it; plenty of people won't - but then plenty of people don't like Limeflower

the paint is composed not of pigment but of light-refracting particles suspended in a carrier medium.

The particles have been designed and engineered so as to refract a certain limited number of colours - eg my paint doesn't refract blue light.

While the paint is drying the particles all line up the same way (for reasons I still don't understand), so that you get a consistent change in the colours refracted as you view the painted surface from different angles.

I don't fully understand this technology yet (not to the degree I'd like to) but every time I chat to the Man Who Knows (the guy who actually designed this paint) I make another attempt at getting him to explain it to me in English, using small words. 8)

The paint itself is applied more or less like other paint, but over a black base coat (what you see when you look at the paint is actually black paint, but with masses of light being refracted back from above it) and under rather technical conditions as regards temperature and depth of coat. Then it's covered with coats of clear lacquer.

cheers aussiemike and polo2k, glad you like it too :D

I want them to match the colour of the interior of the cargo area, viz a light yellowish cream colour. Turns out that there used to be an industry standard colour called Vanilla which would have been perfect, but no one seems to make it any more  So now no one makes a colour close enough. I am sulking. And waiting till I can find the right colour. 8)

There was a Traveller at Gaydon that had creamy coloured seats with a maroon coloured piping. The car was in Maroon B. I think our friend Mr J. Heap had something to do with it, but I seem to remember that they came from Newton Commercial.

Yeah there are lots of nice shades of cream and off-white which look very possible until you put them next to the paint I've got lol  :)

Im planning on trying oput paints on the RG125 ive got in the garage and then when im happy ill do my next minor.
for the reccord when I do mine it will be to complement the other modified minors not to upstage them.
