Sounds like an interesting idea Ash, I found these on t'internet
http://www.visibolt.com/Bolts.htm which would still make it look almost original, however, I don't think that they'd be bright enough to just have on their own, they might be a bit difficult to see in broad daylight.
Having said that I now have the urge to fit them to my other minor alongside the proper indicators just because they'd look kinda cool!

need to be 20w to meet construction regulations - I've not seen the tiny ones that are bright enough.

How about if the trafficators are still present and working, in addition to the flashing side/brake lights?
