And the steering wheels are interchangeable, I have got an ex-MG wheel in my '55

Don't think theres any real rules about the colour of the rim. Probably just depended on what mix was used at the time, though having said that the older cars seem to have beige rims, whilst later series 2s tend to be grey, though I'd imagine plenty of overlap and not a hard and fast rule. Unless anyone knows different!

Just to clarify, I was calling the metal painted middle part of the wheel, the boss, the bakelite horn push, being just that, the horn push with its surround!

Quite correct, nothing much happened on the Gaffa scene yet. Insurance is now settled, and the bent outer panels went in a skip a few weeks back but thats it....
