ref high mileage -- my 1098 traveller has done 110,000, and to my certain knowledge has not had any attention AT ALL in the last twenty years, and I'm pretty certain it had none before it came into our family, as it had belonged to a family friend before that.
Long life is not a problem for an A series nor for any of its BMC contemporaries.

I drove my 72 Marina Suntor for the first time yesterday. It was only a few hundred yards and only up to 2nd gear as the clutch is siezed on, but I was mightily impressed.

I'm sure most of the Marinas being scrapped now would be saved if they were tax exempt. I've seen 3 scrapped recently that could have been fixed in a weekend. The coupe's and TC's might be a bit more interesting but with probably less than 700 Marinas left it's a shame to see half decent ones get scrapped.

Fairly local to me. Just wish I had some cash!

I doubt it would be "cheap" as it's not met reserve. With the condition I'd expect the reserve to be well over £2k - and well worth it.
