Nice to see another Minor back on the road, will look out for you at some of the scottish shows!
The police in your area must have more to do with there time as down here in the Borders they would have you pulled in and charged in the blink of an eye! They must be up to date with the regulations because of the number of farmers, forrestry vehicles etc on the roads down here. I know of several people who have been charged under the construction and use rules. Basically if any area of the tire protrudes outside the arch of the vehicle it contravines one of the many rules! My mate has a range rover with a suspension lift and big wheels and tires on it, because of the height it looks as though the tyres stick out further than the body. They dont! even had a spirit level on side of the car and tires are inside arches. However he has been pulled numerous time by mr plod! Suppose its coz not a lot of crime goes on down here so they have to keep themselves busy!!

As I said before, there are loads of Hot rods running fenderless, and the guys rarely if ever get pulled. Police really don't know the regs, as they are pretty grey as far as this goes.

Depends where you are, I guess. Around Weston-S-M they're dead keen on nicking people for it, along with blue lights/dangerous trailers/bald tyres

I suppose every police force needs a hobby
Up here it's loud exhausts, tinted windows, blue lights, small number plates, with asbos handed out willy nilly by aggressive police officers - particularly female ones surprisingly. The modified car scene is almost finished up here for the youngsters.
Just as well I'm not young now, but I was targetted as a youth - yes in my Minor.

What's a producer?
I've only been pulled over once (not in a Minor) - copper claimed I had driven too wide around a skip at the side of the road?!

A Producer! is a form handed out at the side of the road by a traffic policeman. It gives you 7days to Produce your documents, insu, Mot etc at a police station of your choice.
Back in my younger days I was a member of the R.A.F and a huge fan of customised cars. Because of the good wages I could afford to do some dramatic mods on some of the vehicles I owned. Also with being in the R.A.F I had to have short hair!
-For all you youngsters out there, short hair in the late 70s early 80s usually ment you where a troublemaker!!-
I recall in one particular car, a mk2 cortina with wolfrace alloys, jack up kit & flame paint job!!!! I was stopped no less than 13 times in one week! by the end of the week I didnt even need to show my docs to the desk sargent, just took the form in and said Been stopped again and off I went!
