Hmm, correct torque setting would be nicer.

No need to get excited about torque on these screws and bolts- just 'snug' them up! I used to just put half of them in - and only the top bolt on the starter. Made for faster engine changes !

Not at all - never loosened off in service. It was the thrashing the poor wee 948 got that ensured regular changes were required. Two broken cranks - until I fitted a crankshaft damper from a Morris 1100.
