I agree with Alex Holden because a friend of mine who is in the "oil "business and is a well known Morris Minor enthusiast says exactly the same .
You can safe yourself a lot of money with that knowledge .

Hmm, good point. I'll have to change it as soon as I can after the rally.

Yes he is quite right.
It will dramatically improve the oil leaks to slick status
The mini is the same as the Minor your 20/50 recommendation is correct

Just to clear up a point here....when I said it's a "J" reg mini, I mean it's a '91 and not a '71 car.
Still best to use 20/50?

If you bring your new oil, you could change it when you get to our house on the Friday, Alex.

I think the Halfords stuff is supposed to be OK.
LAst time I looked, the halfords 20/50 had no ratings on the label AT ALL, despite having the price of a premium oil! Anything without ratings is to be avoided unless it's just for flushing.

I'll be lucky to have any miles (or even an MOT) before the rally! Can I start the rally with the Minor on a trailer??

That gives me a few more days to get an MOT and still make the ferry to Orkney...
