bmcecosse, does it look like the trunnion would take a threaded sleeve to make it fit? Similar to the Walford trunnion pictured here?

Also does all the geometry look the same. The Marina one I got looked quite a bit different.

Yes - geometry is exactly the same in evey way - and yes a sleeve would sort the thread out. But where to get the sleeve!!

so there must have been several types for different models i suppose

Or maybe yours has the 'sleeve' fitted Dennis ? The instructions with mine suggest fine for all Marinas - except the TC.

I was working on the theory that the sleeve would be the easier bit to reproduce. I'll try to get hold of one of your type and take it to an engineering firm to see what they say about making a sleeve. Now that I have a 'Walford' it should be easier to explain what is required.
By the way did the bushes in the trunnion have a spiral groove in them? It struck me that this would distribute grease better than the straight groove I have seen on Minor trunnion bushes.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I have a bit more info....
I had been trying to contact Walford Automotive but never got an answer on the phone. Searches on the internet suggested they may have moved or ceased trading.
Anyway, recent searches have since shown a link to these people.

Take a look at the case studies section, interesting.....
I have emailed them to see if this is something they can help with. I'll post my reply.

maybe van trunnions are different - they used a bigger wheel pcd so may be other differences.
The marina Van used a different rear axle (J4 ?) and that probably may be the sole reason for the different PCD.
I will be rebuilding the Van front suspension so will soon find out if it differs to standard Marina - but so far I assume not.
