Pete if its any consolation I have just my 2 tie bar bushes.... and both nuts undid easily, although one of the fork bolts sheared. I worked out how to get the bolt through the fork and tie bar without resorting to a sledge hammer too!

Easy peasy. do the front bolt up as much as you dare, get a screwdriver in the yoke from below and align the rod by waggling the screwdriver whilst pushing down on the bolt. loadsof grease helps too.

Consolation? You're just trying to rub it in!
The front nut was well rounded. I tried to cut through the front washer and nut but I couldn't quite get the angle so i had to cut out the rubbers to give enough room to cut through the bar.
Oh, and will you lot stop whispering - I'm getting paranoid.
Tsk, it's like being at a SADMOG evening.

I once had to replace a crossmember end whilst lying in the snow...
If it was my own car I think I'd have left it until warmer weather but as it was my sister's only car I did the honourable thing - her friends could not believe my level of madness!

Ummm......am living in the driest state in the driest continent on earth....no...no snow...lol...although it has been seen here once or twice...perhaps an inch on the top of the hills....maybe lasting an hour or two

We are currently going through our worst heat wave on record here...looks like making 16 days over 35 in a row...and its supposed to be Autumn now. I did spend a winter in Canada some years back though...so I do know what cold is like... had never seen 'high' temperatures forecast that were below zero before !

I was not amused !
Moral of the story - make sure to shut the door properly + the gates to the front of the house
She has her own house - in and out as she pleases and mostly she chooses in with the weather, i dont even like being out in it with 2 coats on !
Knitty thats HORRENDOUS !!! dont know how you can bear that sort of heat !
