My four door always felt like a him so I called him George. Then I got the convertible and that defiantly was a girl and it seemed logical to call her Mildred. So now I have George and Mildred.

Meet Betty Blue...she´s Smoke Grey, and BTB on the numberplate. On a bad day, it´s Betty The Bitch :-) - and turn up the volume :-)

I've decided to call the new one Lintilla, after another Hitchhiker's character (well, strictly speaking, 800 billion Hitchhiker's characters all cloned from the same pattern).

My '64 van is 'Gaffa'. Previous owner had gaffa taped all the rust holes in the rear body till he could afford the welding. I ran it for 4 years replacing the tape for each MOT. Gradually new metal replaced the tape and Gaffa is now a gaffa tape free zone. Still called Gaffa though.
The there's Connie the convertible. Yes not very imaginative. First van was Sue (Registration SOO). Others have been named after previous owners, or the place they came from - Sandy from Sandtoft, Dora from Dore etc.

It changes slightly... It started as Mini but became Monster. Actually my current name is Dot. The new Triumph is Alfie. Don't ask why! (I don't know)...

Morris's always have names in my experience. Started when a brothter of a school chum got married and swapped his MG1300 for a Morris which had trafficators and the M had fallen off so called Orris. Next our own Traveller, Martha, and now son's 4 door, Murhpy.

Mine's called Rebecca after a character in a film which I saw sometime around when I was 13 (and got the car); and have no idea what it was...

The Viva's called Brick 'cos he's red, boxey and has BRL...K as a numberplate :)

In the past I've also had Nina (a VW Golf, no idea why, name just seemed right) and Hugo (a Yugo, for obvious reasons), Naidenka (aka teabag; my first MZ), Clair (short for Clairol because for some strange reason she sounded like a hairdrier when running flat out; my second and homicidal MZ), and I've now got Cherry (-red-zed, another MZ) and (Pirate) Charlie (Yar!) (also an MZ).

All my friends have bikes with names... so my saloon is "Sleipnir" after Odinn's horse (which had twice the usual number of legs)

My parents' traveller was Alfreda (numberplate ALF...), they also had a Midget called Bridget, and a Volvo 240 called Goodwife (G865WFE). I'm somehow unsurprised that the subsequent V40, Polo and Honda CRV have all remained nameless.
