Here too - they were very disposable cars in the 80s, and not many survived

Oh, I dunno - I owned (and scrapped, to my regret) enough of them, and I'm still fond of them...

The same could apply with these offerings from our favorite car manufacturing group as well.

Still its all in the eyes of the beholder I suppose.
And Andrew I hate to admit it but I might have to agree with you.......

Hey Jonathon is it going to be a saloon or a coupe as I prefer the saloon :D

Ok so what was the original saloon with the 1800 engine and twin carbs then a GT perhaps.

TC stands for Twin Carb as far as im aware... and were around 100hp (the same as the 1800 MGB) whereas the "cooking" 1800s were single carb and had around 80hp

Sorry, I dunno - only ever had single carb ones :) Good to see your link to and Allegro - only ever drove one once, borrowed from girlfriend's mother. It caught fire...

'fraid not - a short under the bonnet on a V busy road in the middle of Bristol. Wrote the thing off (not hard, given the value of the car) IIRC, Quartic steering wheel and all

*now thinking 'does that mean it wasn't an Allegro? :D *

Had a look on the Marina site and they have a couple of members with MK1 1800TC saloons so my memory has not gone totally yet.
