I have found that the ultimate chrome protector is ........VASELINE, works a treat. Plus if any git trys to nick of with ur cromey bits Like they did to me (Muppets) they will get a hand full of gue. Its best to do it in the autumn, then ur chrome will be protected during winter, then if u were going to a show or event etc all you do is wype it off with a rag and you have super shiny chrome bits :D

Any chance of a 'good/bad' list of chrome suppliers then?

One day I intend on buying some new magpie-porn but my car lives outside in the salty portland air 365 days a year. :(

I find its much better to hunt down new/old stock for chrome. It takes a bit of time sorting through auto jumble but there still seems to be loads around still in original boxes complete with tissue paper!

Every bit of chrome on my car is second hand and she sits outside in all weathers. Chrome cleaner (autosol) applied but not completely removed over the winter seems to help.

Ive just got the cheesegrater grill back from the rechromers, it looks amazing! Seems to be a really good quality job and it feels a lot heavier. Cant wait now to get it fitted, though the front end needs painted up first. I used Prestige electro plating based in Mexborough in South Yorkshire.
