I agree on the sound, I love the V8 and a chassis isn't that hard to build it is all the other bits like trying to get the steering through the headers and starter motor and past the suspension uprights!!
I have made a few V8 conversions and the moggy traveller that I am doing is a V6i and that is giving me problems with steering etc!
but that is mainly because I want it very very low and a 5 seater (with roof chop and 4" channelled).
It can be done easy but think of braking, steering and safety!
I am a hotrodder by nature and we get so much grief when something goes wrong you have to be squeeky clean with safety...
you don't want to give the hobby a bad name and kill someone when something fails!!

They are charity days and only interesting cars are invited, no max power loonies or Caterham pilots. Usually between £120-240 for a full day of maybe 5x20 laps, more than enough. I'll keep you posted on dates.
Look forward to seeing the car in the flesh.

Hi Jonathon,
Please keep us all posted on the dates.
My V8 Convertible should be road-ready by Christmas, just in time for a few track days next year!
As for building a V8 Minor - it IS a lot of work.
It will take longer and cost more than you think.
In my case, most of the parts on the car have been machined and modified to work and it is this that takes the time.
Once I've sorted my camera, i'll post some pics (how long have I been saying that!)
Cheers
Martin
