I've not had time to MOT the pick up as I've only had a few days at home this month and have been poorly this week

I would be there in the Minor, but didn't get it MOT'd this week due to bad health

The lack of working heater certainly wouldn't have stopped me, but the prospect of a big fine and some points on my license for a few issues here and there made me change my mind - therefore mine will be one of the many 'moderns' in the carpark

I wonder if anyone else is going via Morrisons in Swadlincote? It's on the way for me and is my nearest E85 pump... So I'm taking a jerry can.

i went to thhe agm in myrtle,she did not miss a beat 60 psi all the way averaged 60 mph gear box noisy at 70 and i wore the web site uniform took just under 2 hours to get back not bad.

I'm afraid I didn't take notes. Main points as I remember them in no particular order:
Various reports were presented, anecdotes recounted, a couple of awards given, and several committee re-elected.
The treasurer, magazine editor, and concourse judge (as you probably already knew) are stepping down. I don't think they have replacements for any of them yet. There was some discussion about alternative ways to do the judging next year.
The gearbox parts situation discussed at the previous AGM is still not resolved. Apparently they are currently have three quotes for the work.
The treasurer asked to put the membership rate up by £2 and add a 50p credit card surcharge and this was approved.
Roger asked about the concessionary rate for disabled members that had apparently been requested at the previous AGM. The secretary said they'd decided they couldn't do it because of problems with policing the scheme and "data protection rules". There was a fair bit of argument about this - Roger pointed out that the pensioners rate is self-policing (they don't ask to see your birth certificate). I think the way this finished up was that the committee agreed to consider it again.

I think there were about 8 Minors in the car park (including mine, Dale's, and Onne's) between roughly a hundred members.

I went in my newly tested 61 saloon - first time on the road since the previous owner gave up driving in 1982 so seemed a good excuse for a test run. Was going great till it overheated and ran a bearing on the M42. I nursed it the rest of the way with frequent stops and got to the meeting in time for AOB! Counted 10 Minors in the car park including mine. The journey home didn't improve, as the brass float int he float chamber split and sank resulting in a waterfall of petrol out of the carb. I gave up at this point and phoned the RAC, who then spent about an hour warming up the float in front of his heater vent to get the petrol out, the theory being it took so long to fill with petrol, it'd probably last till I got back. (What I really wanted was a ride on a lorry). Surprisingly it worked enough to get back. Fuel consumption was interesting and an engine rebuild now looms!
Just another day really...
