in the days when leaving side lights on when parked was normal practice.
Hopefully, it still is, unless you wish to feel the long arm of the law, or whatever passes for it nowadays...
Highway code, section 249 (Parking at night):-
All vehicles MUST display parking lights when parked on a road or a lay-by on a road with a speed limit greater than 30 mph (48 km/h).
[Law RVLR reg 24]
250
Cars, goods vehicles not exceeding 1525 kg unladen weight, invalid carriages, motorcycles and pedal cycles may be parked without lights on a road (or lay-by) with a speed limit of 30 mph (48 km/h) or less if they are
at least 10 metres (32 feet) away from any junction, close to the kerb and facing in the direction of the traffic flow
in a recognised parking place or lay-by
Other vehicles and trailers, and all vehicles with projecting loads, MUST NOT be left on a road at night without lights.
[Laws RVLR reg 24 & CUR reg 82(7)]

I've been done for it (only driving 'offence' ever), so they can still apply it, and will, if folk in a posh ares object to outsiders parking on their lovely street

It was years ago, in Buckinghamshire, and they objected to people parking on the street while the station car park was closed. It was also entirely within the law, so no grounds for appeal. really

What does this button do ??
I was asked this question by a freind of mine, who has found a 1950 Lowlight with so many buttons and contacts fittet in this car, that I would not belive this before I saw it myself.
If someone could help me to insert pictures, I could show you so many bottons and contacts fittet in a Morris Minor, that you have never seen before.
Regards

Thats horrific .. I thought Audrey was in bad shape
That's masie's evil twin btw ... 1970's custom jobbie, fully custom chassis, 2L Essex V4, Auto box, jag live axle on the back and vauxhall-viva coil-overs and discs in the front, wolfrace slot-mags all round and foot-wide tyres on the back!
Oh and a whole lot of rust, terrible electrics and a morris radiator to cool a 2litre lump!
LONG term project that one ;)
