I have no objection to an online version for those who want it, as long as I can have the proper paper version. I can lie in bed or the bath and read it - try holding a laptop over your head and operating the scroll bars. It slips into a briefcase or bag and can be read on public transport without a battery. Double page spread (eg National Rally photos in current edition) work well. How many people have the right size screen to view that properly? Having been on the cover, it was nice to frame a copy - a frame around a screen just isn't the same.

I'd love to have an online archive that I could search for articles, and have an online version for those who want it, but keep the paper for the rest of us.

I'd probably keep my paper mag for that reason - however if/when living overseas it'd be much better to have an electronic version.

You could just do the same thing as the printer does, and print what's on your screen. Would mean providing the cover at more than 72 dpi though,

A reduction in costs yes, but a reduction in the subs? It must be the best value subscription to a car club in the country already. It would save the problem of where to store the 2ft pile of mags but where would you store the on line back issues?My hard drive space is not unlimited. The

i think the subs are quite reasonable even tho you only get a mag i look forward in getting it through the post and read it from cover to cover at least 2 or 3 times

what does annoy me tho is we don't get a discount on parts if you're a member and i recently had to ask the mmoc for help with a v5 application and had to pay £15 for the pleasure as well, even tho it took nearly a month. i thought that was why i joined the club so they could help me when i needed it.

as for on-line yes it would be fine but i personally still prefer the paper even tho you end up with a huge pile of the things and i've only been a member for 2 years lol got them everywhere and it's handy to look back at some of the tech tips for stuff like my oild filter was leaking and i realised after reading nov 06's copy that i was missing the large washer typ plate at the bottom.

found a new one in one of my boxed (wondered what it was when i got given it) fitted it job done no leak now

You certainly do get a discount of parts! Because the various specialist
suppliers advertise in the magazine they have to keep their prices competitive and you as the customer benefit.

If when you order parts from the specialist from the web you add note and and say "this is my MMOC number so you can give me discount on my parts." even the specialist that dont advertise discount usually give it. I allways get discount.

It wouldn't appeal to me, even though I am member from the other side of the globe and pay higher membership fees (presumably for the postage).

I like having the magazine to read, not the same pleasure form reading it online.

As an OS member, most of plesure I get from beloinging to the club is the magazine. I also belong because I like think it helps improve parts availability.

Just in case I didn't make it clear, there would still be a choice. An online version would not be intended to replace the traditional paper copy, only to provide an alternative.
