I guess the only problem with stripping and polishing components, which looks absolutely fabulous IMO

, is the need to keep polishing them to keep them looking good...

ARRRR!! Well not if you spray the magic spray on them they stay nicely polished. I did the first one of mine over 12 months now and they are as good as they were when I originally polished them

CLEAR LACQUER : Just make sure its ok for high temperatures,
if not it cracks or flakes.

lol.. I had to clean up some pipe ends when fiting a new bath over the weekend. I started to get carried away and polish the rest of the pipe with wire wool.
They looked really nice but I had to stop and remind myself it was a total waste of time as they're hidden by the side panels.
Would vaseline be an alternative to clear laquer? Just wipe some on every now and then with a cloth?

Yes, but it will go runny when heated up and possibly run off. All you are doing is stopping air getting to it, as that is when it oxidises and goes dull.

Well I have seen both Rat look and Rust look cars but Vaseline or KY look

sounds a bit like anew Dorset trend
