Either clamp the hub in a vice or rest it on something solid (e.g. big lump of wood) and tap/bash it out from behind with a suitable drift and a large hammer. Just make sure your drift doesn't damage the hub where the seal seats, I've used a rather blunt large screwdriver before. The seal will end up a bit mangled but so what. Try not to distort it too much though - it'll come out more easily if it comes out straight so tap around it evenly rather than just in one place.pettefar wrote:Any pointers, hints and tips about getting the oil seals out of the hubs? If all else fails I guess you could burn off the rubber first but that'll likely be messy (and smelly).
