There must be NO load on the piston - it's weak as chocolate. Your interference fit is mis-read by 10 times !! The suggested fit is between 0.8 thou and 1.5 thou !!! The 'tool' is simply screwed rod and a selection of pipes and sockets etc to fit inside the piston pin bore. I did remove old pistons from rods using it - but was forced to apply some heat to the little end with a blow torch.

in this case the hole in the small end of the rod is 0.0011" smaller than the gudgeon that fits into it, this means that a perfect interferance fit exists meaning that the pin will not come out in service
