You're not using your extreme engineering head!

Fit Bond villain style hinged roof sections to the carport or garage, and put a 4 post lift in. Then when you want to get the car in the air you have the benefit of no roof in the way, and being semi outdoors! ;)

Actually a few years ago I folded two 8' lengths of 3mm galv sheet into "top hat" section. I made one slightly smaller then the other so they would stack together.
Part of my drive slopes so if I put a car on ramps it ends up level !
The idea was to use the folded channels to make super ramps so it lifted the car, say, 3' in the air.
If on the flat that would be a little steep but with my drive it would just mean the car was around 12" higher at front.
In the end I used the channel to make a motorbike trailer and no longer have access to a guillotine and folder.
It's got me thinking, however, of seeing if i can get someone to cut and fold them for me again :D

I like the idea of remote greasing points. As you say could be done quite easily using HGV chassis lube bits.
You would need 6 nipples (angled or straight to suit location).
Length of nylon pipe.
2 distribution blocks, too feed pipes into and with a grease nipple fitted.

That way you would grease 3 points on each side with 1 pump of grease gun.

I am liking this better the more I think about it. What size and thread are existing nipples?

Does anyone know thread size for grease nipples?
