I'm certianally seeing Les' point regarding the grease movement. And I think some may have mistook what he's been saying.

From what I've noticed with grease and what I'd expect in this case is that if you pack the bearings and fill the cap, then if the bearing ran out of grease perhaps the closest grease would go into the bearing but the more distant stuff would remain away from the bearings being to thick to 'flow' into them. I'd expect to pull the cap off and find it packed around the edges and have a hollow where the hub has been. In the case of any movement, isn't it more likely that the grease will come out of the bearing than be attracted in?

That's why I asked the purpose of filling the cap. I don't see a problem with it fill as there is the chance that some will get there and it may serve as a heatsink (althought the bearing shouldn't be getting that hot) but I'm not certian of its sure success!
