After this deposit, over how many years were you intending to spread the loan. Let me know and I'll work out the interest

Maybe. At the right price, and to the right person

What's a loan ???

never had one for years
Hmmm... maybe I should have kept quiet regarding the quarterlight rubbers

I've just spent a few hours doing the passenger side one... never opened it before but thought I'd replace both sides while I'm finishing off... the longest time was spent trying to free it as the previous owner had siliconed it in and comletely sealed the window to the rubber

what a job trying to get the silicone to free without damaging anything, anyway, done now

few bruises to prove

Oh that's good, I'll take cash. But it will be a lot more than £500

My vote: freeing a seized brake union on a forty-year-old front cylinder in a force 7 and heavy rain.
That was my sunday afternoon, anyway. My coat is nearly dry now...

I'll go for a gear box swap.... thought it might be done in a day, it took that long to get it out, so still only half complete and I'm the proud owner of a shiny new angle grinder.

Made me laugh!
On the previous subject of brake flexibles I had a mini once and found a ring spanner taped onto the flexible pipe the previous owner had obviously used it to fit the flex then realised he couldn't get it off! I can't remember if I recovered it or left it there.

Excellent. A lesser man would have undone the flexi and removed the spanner, but it took imagination to leave it there

No, but I admire that sort of thinking
My particular moment of cunning was:
Having realised the body end of the flexi was not going to budge, I loosened the other end, passed it through the blackplate still atached to the cylinder and unscrewed the cylinder from the hose. Screwed the new cylinder on, then passed the hose end back through the backplate and bolted the cylinder on.
I was quite chuffed at that, given that I first owned a Minor last June.
My new tools from the weekend are a Draper adjustable wrench and a Thor soft-faced persuader. Sorry, hammer.

A bit like me with my lad's Corsa.
I couldn't undo the union at the front to drop the exhaust pipe. So I took it apart from the back and then let the front pipe hang down on its coupling to give just enough clearance. It took me an extra hour, but the alternative would have been to rebuild the car and take it to a garage to undo the bolt.

Mine is when I've washed and polished the Minor..then the seagulls come over looking for their supper....and leave rather large messages all over Rosie.

Hopefully not the sort that made him use a ring spanner.

I have just finished my worst job on the traveller. It was to open up all the guttering, clean it, prime it, paint it and fit it. I wont be doing that again in a hurry.

Removing the hockey sticks.
Or rather, removing them without breaking off studs.

Is that possible, then?
