Bearing in mind that oil may run out soon, how about a conversion kit so the Minor can be run on bio- ethanol? I guess this would involve a modified SU carb and possibly fuel pump.

Not me  :D
Okay, well maybe 'happy' isn't quite the right word  ! It sounds great in principle, but imagine how it would actually work. First off, you'd need to remove the complete frame and canvas from your car, and I dunno about you but I well remember various skinned knuckles and/or crushed fingers just putting a roof up and down, let alone removing the whole thing! Then of course you have to get this rather unweildy - probably not heavy but certainly inconveniently large - lump of fibreglass over the car and onto the new mounting points before bolting it down. That's gonna be a two man job, definitely, or you're positively guaranteed to scratch that nice paintwork! Not forgetting you'd need somewhere to store whichever bit isn't currently keeping the rain off yer barnet.
With a half hour job to swap, and a willing neighbour to give a hand, just so you can nip down the paper shop in the depths of winter, wouldn't you think ah S*d it, I'll use the other car!?

It certainly wouldn't be for me. If I had wanted a hard top, l would have bought one in the first place.

It certainly wouldn't be *what*? :) Getting confoozled now (not that that takes a lot...)

Sorry, that was my fault. What I meant was that a fibreglass top would not be for me.

I like the sound of bioethanol conversion.

My ideas, I will draw them up and email them later:

- Modification of minor seats to include headrests (this one will need some work!)
- Side Exit exhaust system

How about a modification to the indicator stalk so that when pulled back it flashes the headlights? Would be handy for letting people out of junctions, etc.

In fact it would probably need to be a totally purpose built steering wheel, and many other factors would need to be taken into consideration first.

But remember, you saw it here first 8)

How about a bolt on piece, that bolts in place of the drivers glovebox (or passenger if popular), that one can mount a radio, and maybe an extra gauge (or 2 at a push). So all we would have to do, is undo the liner, bolt in this bit (would bolt on to the holes under the dash) and mount whatever radio you want. Then close the glovebox lid and all is hidden.

Just a reminder ,this competition closes at the end of the month. If you have any submissions send them now. We have only received 1 written/drawn reply so far, so we can either extend the deadline or just consider this idea as a waste of time.
