Well, Okay, B&Q isn't exactly high and low - but it was jolly good fun trying to find one which would fit on the wall

If it is leaking through the sender itself, you can try to dissassemble the sender to see if it can be repaired.
Personally I'd go for a second hand sender (make sure you get the correct type! You need the later sender - an early one will read backwards)
Just a quick update on this.
I couldn't see any way of repairing the leaky sender unit and I finally got round to getting a new sender unit, complete with neoprene gasket. I didn't think a second hand unit was worth the risk, as if mine had developed a leak, the chances are another old one could too.
This has cured the problem completely.
The neoprene gasket has multiple concentric rings on both surfaces, which act as a pretty effective seal without having to overtighten the six bolts that hold the sender in place, and the new sender is designed differently, so there is less opportunity for leaks to develop where the gubbins is mounted onto the plate.
Mind you, I miss the high from driving around breathing petrol fumes

I seem to be getting a whiff of petrol if I really chuck the car into a corner, maybe I have the same problem!! I really should investigate.

I'd check the more obvious things first, could be cheaper

.
If it only does it when the tank is full, it could just be leaking out the filler pipe if the petrol cap seal is poor. Morris even put a warning in the handbook not to fill it so full that fuel was visible in the pipe, as expansion could cause it to be expelled if you park in full sun

.
Secondly, if the saloon has a rubber oversleeve between the filler neck and the tank like the traveller, check that the clips are tight as that can be another source of leaks on filling or full tank.
Leaks in the fuel pipe joints would tend to be noticeable all the time, not just when the petrol is swilling about on corners, so it probably isn't that.
That leaves you with the sender unit or seal, as in my problem, or I guess the dreaded porous tank, although that is unlikely in a car as recent as yours.
Good luck.
