cam your a star, did notice split bumpers in the pile, cant understand bit of paper with 48 on it ,some thing belgium or export?, same size as a bvirth certificate and samr colour, ill give him a ring and c if he will pull it out of garage

Nah, moulding did not come out till later so definately NOT a '48. See if you can get the chassis number, that would be brilliant! :D

Oh and is it LHD then or RHD?

I only know of 1 48 LHD lowlight in Holland I think. Chassinumber SMM/5528

Quite early that one. Exxport models started with SMM/5501

5528 will be an early '49. I'm sure they were exported a lot earlier than 5501 - I have 2 export cars that are #'s 922 & 1228.

Another difference on the '48s & early '49s is the sharp gutter edges.
They don't have the "rolled" edge like all the later cars have.

There are quite a lot of differences between the early lowlights & later ones, but if it has the bead under the rear window, it's not a '48.
Dash vents are a giveaway also. They came in around mid '50.

That's very true. My '49 has the sharp gutter.
Dash vents are a giveaway also. They came in around mid '50.
Unless you look at MY car! :wink: It had them fitted while in the experimental department! :wink:
