Louise, please do not misunderstand, but as I did not go to the National this year, and in view of your 2007 posting below, what in your view made this rally better than last years?
Bill - I'm not sure of the value of keeping dragging up old posts (especially from 2007)
I suppose it was a combination of lots of different things such as I know more people this year, there were lots of new website members to meet, I got more involved in things this year, the weather was better, I had a bigger tent so the camping was more comfortable etc etc. Yes, the clowns were there again. And I still don't like them

. However I think we all accept that they are a permanent fixture now so they tended to be the topic of quite a few jokes over the weekend. And the sheepdog display was quite amusing as the sheep escaped.
The large web campsite!
Yes, that was definately an improvement on last year. Thanks for roping it off Lou

No probs - think we'll need a bigger roll of Crime incident tape for the next rally though

Louise, the value is in what we can learn from the past. fespite still not having showers, and still having the same entertainment, you appear to feel that the National was better.
I have previously suggested ways to improve such things as the National, but for whatever reason they have not been adopted, However things, in your view, have improved. As this fact alone is of benefit to the club as a whole, then these improvements could be built on further,
PS In your earlier postings you also compained about the apparent non acceptance by the committee of the website users

As a committee member I always stressed the importance of the website, perhaps notice is now being taken.

I'm not sure how the club can build further on the weather, the type of people attending or my tent size though Bill. All of these are outside of their control. They will hopefully be aware of this thread though and appreciate how valuable the website is at bringing people together.

Dan - You wouldn't be saying that if you got sour cream between your toes

Back to my criticism point. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the event as I have done for many years. It is just that without an HQ tent the site seemed to lack a focal point where one could find information and contact people. I just seemed to take a lot of time looking for people when nobody knew where they were.
Purely a personal feeling and before anyone asks, I do know what it is like to organise a national rally, I was on the Blenheim 50 anniversary team
