On Tuesday I saw the same split screen Morris in Berkhamsted which I normally see when I am driving but this time I was walking and had a quick look at it and my word it is rough it is MOT exempt and it would not go through another MOT without it having work done to it and sounded awful when I was further up the High Street and it drove past.

Spotted today at Himley Hall show near Dudley.
A general view of the '1950s' section with Max, my Minor, trying to push into the foreground!

These were all the Minors taking part today.

And this. Obviously not a Minor. This 1958 Austin A55 Cambridge is identical (except for the sun-visor) to one which I was given in 1988 by the widow of its first owner. It had 59,000 miles on the clock and became my daily driver, averaging 10,000 miles a year, until 1993.

Finally for rarity value is this Ford 100E Anglia convertible. A Ford-authorised conversion by Abbots of Farnham, who built Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac estate cars, this Anglia has covered less than 25,000 miles from new and has the extremely rare 'Newtondrive' two-pedal control system with a weird and wonderful solenoid/vacuum servo system for actuating the clutch via the manual gear lever.

Hi , yes that would have been you !!! We were off to Farnham to visit family and travelling in a Freelander , Moggie garaged at home . I was miffed because if we had not had prior arrangements we would have come to Himley . Some super cars there from the pics .

Farnham... Surrey...? Long-ish trip!
Himley was good. I've not been before. Not as well attended as the advertising suggested it would be. Suppose the weather can be blamed for that

Definitely some nice cars there. I took about 60 pics in total. Mainly BMC and/or 1950s/1960s. Met an old acquaintance there too... the catering company on-site were using a middle-aged ex-London Buses single-deck Dennis Dart/Plaxton Pointer. It was one of the actual buses I drove some years ago when I worked for Arriva South London.

Fair old distance -three and a half hours ' steady ' driving from Shropshire . Reasonably used to it as most of my family were from Hampshire , Wiltshire , Berkshire and I would make regular visits . Low attendance at Himley possibly due to nobody wanting to get their cherished vehicles wet !!!!!

Excellent day on Sunday at Capel manor for the NORTH LONDON AND MIDDX rally. Some beautiful cars and a lovely maroon lowlight (1949) . Warmly welcomed by local members who did a great job of organising. Exactly what a branch rally should be. (Including threatened rain. ) Although cars came from near and far, I would urge anyone thinking of going in 2018 to make a firm commitment.
Many other of the BMC stable were there and an interesting contingent of Issigonis's other designs, 1300/1100 Maxi mini etc.
There was a general classic car meet elsewhere in the grounds, a beautiful house and the grounds to wander through. All so accessible from J 25 of the M25 / A10
Thanks again NLM for a great day.

Spotted today on the IOW looking very forlorn. Being used as a Point of Sale . Very rusty but featuring a Charles Ware sticker in the rear window and a heated rear screen.

JMM 758B taxed and MOT until 2018. Looking at the visible rust I'm surprised its roadworthy .
