Sorry I couldn't make it. I tried to call but I guess there was no reception there?
Nice place then?

hi Pete
indeed no phone reception out there, it was a pleasant pub shame it was a bit grey and cold so we ended up inside. I think we can happily add that to our pub list for these long evenings when a drive out is nice. Small convoy of 3 minors all the way back to the M27 last night ;-)

Right, before the dates creep up on us and we don't organise anything:
Who's going to the Dorset Rally? We'll be there on the sunday only.
But the main reason for the post: Any takers for the Isle of Wight Rally on 30/31 August? It's a nice friendly one and the site is good, at Havenstreet station. We went for our first rally and really enjoyed it and it would be great to take a Sadmog group.
We'll probably go over on saturday lunchtime and explore the island for a bit, then camp on the saturday night, when there's usually a barbecue.
Any takers?

I'll should be at both the Dorset and the Isle of Wight rally
at the moment Lizzy is my only car on the road! (Astra has just done something nasty to its clutch, mini alternator swap successful but need a new coil bracket to finish it)
what pub are we at this week?

Excellent.

Ouch, sounds expensive for the Astra. The Focus is getting a new cambelt on friday, so given the state of the Lemming (front off, no carb/manifold/exhaust) I'm hoping the Traveller passes its MoT today.
what pub are we at this week?
No particular preference. Could do the Bold? I think somebody mentioned we haven't been there for a while. In case it affects the decision it looks like it might be dry.

The bold is not as good as it used to be. Its under new managment now. Me and Katie stopped going there because we no longer liked it. Although it is still a "pub" it has become a lot more restauranty.

Traveller passed its MoT with flying colours. Only hitch was a discrepancy between the chassis numbers on the car and the V5 - an S on one and a 5 on the other. Didn't slow things much, we just entered it the same as last year's MoT.
You should have had an email with IOW Rally details. I don't have email addresses for recent Sadmog attendees so if you want the details give me an address in a PM.

another very good show is at Broadlands in Romsey, the Hampshire Pagent of Motoring on the August bank holiday weekend (sunday 24th monday 25th) can't recomend that highly enough. and actually cheaper to take a classic car to get in

so, are we sticking with the bold forester this week?

I'm debating wheter or not to come, it'll depend on the progress of the trav. If its the bold then I won't be coming (see earlier my earlier post)

Fine by me.
Can somebody send me an SMS at about 7:30pm with the words "compression tester"? I might remember to bring it then...
