and the quarter lights, time for a cup of tea in good old BMC tradition.[frame][/frame]

great Morris Minor restoration weather today, ie sunny. Got the quarter lights fitted and on with the door seals, the clips are easy to tap in place, about 25 for each door, the seal just slips on..[frame][/frame]

no job has been easier than this, piece of cake, and it makes a great difference to the inside.[frame][/frame]

Drivers door sits properly, but the passenger door now needs adjusting. The door gap has been enlarged by the fitting of the door seals, need to loosen off the hinge bolts and get that to sit right.[frame][/frame]

next the bonnet to bulkhead seal, it went on a little too easily for my liking, I guess some silicon sealant would help there, there is a ridge on one side of this rubber seal does it go up toward the bonnet or downward?[frame][/frame]

These two seals I have not been looking forward to fitting, cab rear to cab rear panel. I think the one on the left is to go over the cab roof, and the right one down the side between the cab side and rear tub side. [frame][/frame]

I believe that is the way mine is on. Mine also went on really easy but it hasn't moved in almost a year

Thanks Matt. The tougest two hours ive spent so far, getting the roof seal in, what a difficult one to do on your own, you need more than two hands, nearly there now, Ive stopped short due to being a little tired and irritated by the seal keep popping out in places I had just secured, almost as if a Gremlin was sitting on the other side undoing my work as I went around. Its going to look very neat when I finish this tommorow morning.[frame][/frame]

The plates that secure the door seal went on ok, but the screws need to be very short or they jut out the other side, some cut down self tappers did the job well.[frame][/frame]

thats because originally they were pop rivetted on

looks like you also painted the quarter light rubbers or are you replacing them

I'll be renewing the rubbers and seals for the Quarterlights and side windows in time, just champing at the bit now to get it assembled & through the mot and get her on the road, once she's up and running I'll be slowly improving things over time, cost effectivly.[frame][/frame]

Please don't use Siliconbased kit.
It gives big problems,fish eyes, with the paint you spray or paint on your car.
In any professional paint shop silicon in any form is banned!

well if this was a one to Five on the spanner scale it's difficulty rating is 5, the rubber seal was a sod to fit, every time I tightened a bolt the seal would slide up, out of position. Enough to test the patients of the Arch Bishop of Canterbury, he'd have been swearing in the first five minutes. Anyway its in, not a job I'm really proud of, but its in. The sealant just gets everywhere and on everything, a good quantity of rags is a must.[frame][/frame]

the seal has bulged up in places and I used black sealant from a gun to prevent water getting in. I'm not hundred percent satisfied with it so I'll be fiddling with it again.[frame][/frame]

bolted on a couple of cleaned up engine parts, the oil filter container..[frame][/frame]

carburettor and original air filter box, the air filter will need to come off again to make work room for me to fit other components, like the carb linkages.

David your a top man not been on for a while and what a job you have done from a man asking all the right question's to getting it this far dont rush it now. Cant believe from that hunk of junk you pulled out the hedgerow to this 10/10 to you

thanks Tog, nice to hear from you again. I was having a pritty good day for things going right, I adjusted the rubber roof seal and its sits flat against the roof now and looks far neater.[frame][/frame]
