stripping the diff down was easier then i thought , but took alot of hard work to get it cleaned up and in the end i had the rusty bits sand blasted safely to avoid sand entering the diff housing its self .then painted it with hammerite primer and black hammered finish paint with a brush[frame]Image[/frame]

the diff its self was very clean inside , which im happy about , as i wasnt going to strip it down because it wouldnt go back together ![frame]Image[/frame]

the hub and bearings cleaned up well to with a little wheel cleaner acid . and a wire brush .[frame]Image[/frame]

painted the hub with wheel silver paint and lacquer to protect it and re greased the bearings[frame]Image[/frame]

ok ,ive been busy doing abit more then what i expected on the morris ,these last few weeks , the prop ,seat base ,and steering column(you may be interest in what iv done with that one !!) first up is the finished prop.[frame]Image[/frame]

i tried to remove the joints but i didnt have a clue how to , i may replace them at a later date .[frame]Image[/frame]

the seats were in a bad state , mainly because i left them outside (bad idea ) so new covers are needed and foam, i had the seats sand blasted etch primed and painted black .[frame]Image[/frame]

the column had a rubber bush with a brass bearing , this is the main thing i changed to the column , i replaced the rubber with two ball roller bearing , i had to machine out the bracket a little to make it fit ,but im happy with the result .[frame]Image[/frame]

i even made a cover for the top bearing (where dirt may enter ) out of a filler spreader .[frame]Image[/frame]

Why not a closed bearing?
All bearings are on the market with different types of covers for the rollers.
You can get it with black rubber, and also with a stainless steel cover.

Finally found a welder cheap enough , soon il be cutting and welding[frame]Image[/frame]
