Well after we've sprayed Milly I might need a hand to pop the engine/gearbox in :)

Actually another question, Anyone got an original sidelight for a 59'. Doesn't matter if it's complete rubbish I just want to see one in the flesh to decide if I go down that route or just live with late ones.
I'm at a stage that if I want to fill in the wing hole and fit the right sidelights I need to do it now.

Afternoon chaps,
I won't be around tonight - I'm busy in advance of two weeks teaching (Eindhoven next week) and the outlaws are down visiting.

Cheers,
Jim

yeah! Lizzy is back under her own power took a few hours but all back in one piece again and happy to go once round the block shaft was a bit of a mess but looked clean enough inside I'll bring the evidence with me on thursday

many thanks to Colin for handing me spanners most of the day and Peetee for the finishing touches

will be keeping close eye on new rear brakes, and flushing the diff oil in a few weeks to finish the job otherwise its a good'en

On the subject of not so working cars,, I got some stuff done to the trav today.

Finished plumbing the brakes apart from into the M/C because I want to get that out and have a look.

Cut out a whole load of rot from the inner arch and fabricated a new section and welded it in, then I was rained off :(

On this subject I stil have a fairly chunky bit to tidy up and re-weld - does anyone have an inner wing repair panel (with the captive nuts?) or a suitable piece of steel I can pinch (everything we have it a bit too flimsy...)

Edit: Paul, if Maude is around could I perhaps pinch that section? from the A pillar to the arch itself?

Your welcome to it BUT it's a repair I did 2-3 Years ago so not exactly standard in its own right.

I need to get Maude cut up and gone by this weekend anyway so if you want anything shout now.

Paul,

Thats fine by me, at the moment I only have very flimsy or massivly thick steel so a "proper" panel is easily the best solution.

If you want some help cutting it out I will be around on Sunday

(its drivers side btw)

Where to this week folks?

how about the white swan in Lyndhurst? or the oak inn at bank?

although Lizzy is up and running will no doubt be in the astra as the roads are still salt encrusted!
