Yep, same with Footman James. It was remarkably hassle-free.

We're all safely back in Burnley, apart from Wibble Puppy, whom I delivered into the capable hands of her husband (lucky chap! :D) earlier this evening, and is presumably still on her way home. I'll post more in a few days when I've had a bit of time to decompress and ponder over what was surely my most enjoyable holiday to date.

Just got home, what an absolutely unforgettable trip 8) Decompression going on here too.

If you get a chance to go on a rally organised by alex, grab it with both hands (especially if chris "Non-Sequitur Man" is going along too), I can't remember having laughed quite so hard for quite so many days in a row before. All trousers now soaking wet, in very good causes, and head full of fabulous memories - cliffs and bays and mountains and music and castles and seals and crazy wind and paddling and sun and puppies and wasps and harbours and ditches and about six billion rainbows 8) Couldn't bear to go to bed at night, we crammed every moment of every day full to bursting with every aspect of Ireland we could find.

So lovely to meet ian and dave and steve and lynda - and to spend time with Bill and June, the occupants of The Other Car, who were absolute bricks and very sporting about the, er, scenic nature of some of our more impressive detours  They aren't forum members, unfortunately.

I'm not going to bother getting the van finished now, I'm going to get Alex to drive me everywhere in Fenchurch, who is everything you could possibly want in a Minor - zippy, fun, responsive, smooth and totally reliable.

:D <---- me

But WP you've got to finish the van - I want to see that lovely paint in the sunlight (if we ever get any) :D

Could be a good idea, with that paintwork you might be afraid to use it, particularly in the rain

I'll finish it all right! but will be plotting co-drivers on next rally. :P

Problem is, AIR is an act it's almost impossible to follow. Everything conspired to make it an unforgettable trip:

weather
company
organisation
scenery
Lintilla taking a rest, thus throwing Radiant Brick together into the same car
one band member talking incessantly
the other saying the bare mimimum
the third being way less extreme than usual

Once the van is finished it will be my daily driver, paint and all. Sure it's going to get pranged, but life will go on, and I have a Plan B for when it gets too rough 8) The great thing is, once it's on the road and I can take it on rallies, my co-driver and I can sleep in the back, thus saving money on every other YH.... Geeeeeeeeeeeeenuis! :D

Aha - you didn't say you'd found a co-driver of limited stature to match yours :D

I'm going to upload a number of videos that I made while I toured around Ireland recently with Wibble Puppy and my friend Chris. This one is from our visit to Mizen Head, the most southwesterly point of Ireland. I had no idea what we would find there, so I was gobsmacked to come across this bridge with one of the most incredible views we saw on the whole trip. A bit later on we saw a seal swimming in the sea under it.

Here is the video. I recommend selecting "watch in high quality" because you can see quite a bit more detail in that version.
