Well, the traveller now has front brakes a master cylinder and some silicon fluid. Only bled an inch of fluid into a bottle but got a reasonable pedal. Will connect and bleed the rears this week, but unlikely to make an MOT in time.
If I give 'greeny' a service and oil change, he/she might be taking me all/part way there (subject to breakdowns etc...

). I'll be coming in convoy (or as a passenger) with Cam.

Well as long as my eurobox (which it should be (which also has a tow-bar)) is sorted and you've got access to your A frame then a breakdown shouldn't be a problem

I was hopin' to convoy with Cam anyway. Always useful to have a rescue vehicle in toe

Humm .. The man from the MOT (who is also my next door Neighbour) he say .. UMM ... NO ...
He has suggested that if I wish to have an MOT I should change the eyebolt bushes ..
As it happens I sort of suspected this would happen .. I'm working tommorow night and the next night .. So I'll have to change them while knackered on friday morning .. (got my parts order in before ESM closed Praise be).
He also failed me on the indicator tell tale .. which I didn't realise was a fail point ..
All this means I won't have an MOT till late Friday ... How dodgy would it be to drive to Bristol without any TAX ? Assuming I have my licence and MOT and Insurance on me .. what do we think the chances are of getting a ticket ?

just think 'automated reg number recognition system running via cameras on major highways...'
and then think 'aha - post offices are open on Saturday mornings'

Yeah you're right .. another thought occured to me along the lines of "slip the babysitter a fiver to nip down to the post office for me ..

Probably very much so. 'MeriKate was once pulled over quite quickly when she drove our (then) just-purchased Honda after having just brought the tax for it (even though she was legal the police database hadn't been updated)
Find a Post office on the way! :

Right, having trawled through all the posts to find out what time and where the rally is - I'll be leaving from Tewkesbury at about 9-9.30. Should take about a hour or less zipping down the M5.
If anyone wants to meet me and come along that way, you are welcome!

I'm coming from north london - stoke newington - but will be heading kings cross, warren street and west kind of way. I'm hoping to leave the house at 8-8.30 - I think people are meeting 10ish right?
Anyway, let me know if you want a lift and i'm sure we can arrange something

I'm okay for a lift (but thanks). I'm going from Waltham Forest so probably N. Circular to A40 to M25 to m4.
Open question to London lot, anyone want to meet at somewhere like Hanger Lane or A406/M4 interchange?

LOSER... Me, that is

No Minor for the rally, me. The carb being knacked and the subsequent over heating/racing engine has warped something - I pray that it's the block, 'cos it's a new head... I'll be at the rally - I have friends with Minors - but not in one of mine, the entire fleet is off the road in SORN land. This has been the unluckiest car job I've EVER done - more details on Saturday, complete with swear words. If only ESM hadn't forgotten to include the crank thrust washers in the last package, there'd be a NEW engine in him by now...
Darn. Blast. Bother. See how cross I am?
