Very nice refurb! A question on the rust proofing, if I may.

You are using Dinitrol ML sprayed into the cavities. Is this the right stuff to use, when rust has already formed or should the cavities be relatively rust free first? ...as I have this Task before me

Yes, by night, the gold/bronze faced speedos emit a warm, friendly, yellowish glow which is somehow reassuring to the driver.......

On the dinitrol site it says "for rust proofing second hand vehicles" and "stops ongoing corrosion" so I think so?

It's now a rolling resto! Went out in it on Saturday night, ended up having to drop some mates off further away than planned too, went out on sunday too and one of the brakes is binding but only after driving and then stopping still for a few minutes, front left I think feeling the wheels, probably needs backing off a tad until the shoes take shape.

Fuel gauge, torsion bar adjust, brake adjust on saturday then it's time to start filling and prepping the rear end for paint :)

I looked at your car between those others, and it looked so timeless!

Makes all the moderns parked next to it in that car park look just what they all are these days, oversized, fat and ugly.

Painted and built up my bumper and all the ironwork, back of the new blade coated in hammerite, I can't decide if the old over riders are adding too much patina? I'll keep my eyes open for some better ones or maybe the new plastic chrome ones?

I've started rubbing the rear end down ready for filling and sanding and my green leatherette has arrived ready to start wrapping the little interior parts and dash etc.

Various ages of tatty trim it's gained over the last 60 years.

Old leather and vinyl removed,

New footwell boards made and eveything covered in new vinyl off ebay.

All installed with new stainless cup washers and screws, just need to recover the dash and glue some on the rear arches once the rear end is painted.

Yes Pete paint can be time-consuming but if you follow the correct steps very rewarding
