Newton Reclining Seats

Post by Willie »

These Newton recliners are excellent but, I was driven mad buy the fact that
my passenger seat rattled when not occupied. The backrest is a really floppy
fit and I found that when the backrest is folded forward the lug on to which
the latch locks in the upright position is clearly visible(on each side). this lug
is undone using a 'star driver'(don't know the proper name but it has six points) it is then easy to cut a piece of 1/2" heater hose to push on to each
lug making a much better fit with the rubber hose removing any rattle.

The star drive is a "TORX". Pretty standard fare on car seats these days. Halfords do them on a socket.
