Have just spent over 2 hours fitting one new hockey stick (rusty nut problem! ) and once I've managed to fit the other one I'm planning to fit some new chrome wiper bezels that I have been given.
Can anyone here post instructions as to how to fit them.
take the wiper blades off.
take the nuts off the old bezel, use a ring spanner as the spindle is ali and the chances are it will be well corroded on, plus gas works well.
then put the new bezels on, using a new gasket under, unless the old ones are still good.
put some grease on the spindle threads and put the new bezel and nut back on, make sure it is tight
yes a good tug, unless they are the really early ones which had a screw on the side.
sometimes a small pry with a screwdriver under the knuckle will work but be careful you do not damage the splines
There's also the wiper arms with a little srping release lever hidden almost out of sight. If it's that type, the pushing the end of the little levery bit the right way makes life a lot easier
Hi Louise
I'm planning on fitting new gaskets under the bezels within the next few days. I'll report back to you if I encounter any problems. It's a job I have never done before, but AU's instructions look to be very clear indeed. Good luck!

Hi again Louise
Just in from changing the wiper bezel gaskets, simplicity itself! You just need a 3/4" ring spanner to remove the nut, which wasn't the least bit tight (on my car at least). The bezels just pull off after that. It'll be worth fitting new gaskets as well, as water gets in to the glove compartment otherwise! I could see loads of silt around the aperture. So now, maybe dry mapbooks?
Good luck mate

Ive attempted that one but the size of the adjustable spanner got the better of me in the end and i'm now looking for some imperial spanners.. might help
*** WARNING ***
When undoing the wiper bezel nuts, if they are really gummed up then applying lots of force via the spanner can twist the wiper box which WILL distort the wiper rack tube and jam the drive cable. The way to avoid this is to remove the glove boxes and hold the wiper box tightly whilst an assistant undoes the nuts.
If the nuts are easy to turn then this is not a problem, it applies only to really stiff nuts. (no comments )
