windscreen wipers
The past couple of new ss windscreen wipers i've bought are, well, cack. They're made by Tex. Does anyone know who else might make some that work?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Eleanor

From Bull Motif. Yeh, the old one's I took off are Tex aswell, but completely different (plastic backing to the rubber instead of wire strips and generally cheaper feeling) - but although they are worn and need changing - they are still better than the new one's!!
So I've moved the old passenger's one on to the driver's side (which was dead) and put the new one infront of the passenger - thinking it preferable that I see out, than they do!
I'll try ESM next time then.
Could you have a look at yours and see what's engraved on them, please Cam?

Right - I can now vouch for Halfords refills and they work a treat with the stainless steel tex wipers... much better than the piece of completey unwipey rubber you get with them new!
The only mod I made was singeing the ends of the plastic backings to make sure they didnt slide out.
... can also vouch for 'rainex' as per Peetee.
Hooray! I can see out when its raining!

A further top tip for rainex - use rain-ex on the side windows and rain-ex anti-fog on thew inside - it's grrrreat. Almost completely negates the need for any sort of heated screen.

It does work! Only I never noticed it before. I can indeed feel the airflow go from bad to worse... at least it's nice and hot now!

A rainex anti-fog wipe, plus a bottle of rainex glass cleaner is going free with the normal rainex in Halfords at the moment.A further top tip for rainex - use rain-ex on the side windows and rain-ex anti-fog on thew inside - it's grrrreat.

Yup, I still need them quite often despite the 'rainex', just cos of the number of lorries that keep splatting me with mud on the way to work. I'm not sure they've invented a 'mud-ex' yet.... maybe I should. I'd make loads of money out of the off-roading lot!I certainly needed my wipers today.
