Boot Lock Catch

Post by Kevin »

At the moment as I cure one thing another occurs just to keep me on my toes  this time my boot handle has decided to stop going into the keep an d the boot is permanently open I have not altered a thing it just started doing this. I had a look at the adjustment but that is just up and down in slots, am I missing something could there be a packing piece to raise its position or am I going/looking in the wrong direction :-?
Cheers

Kevin...if it DID work but doesn't now then you have probably
bent the latch, though it is quite tough!. There is no adjustment
at all on the handle assembly just make sure it is all done
up tight. the adjustable part is on the boot floor and it does
have some adjustment right to left as well as in and out. Since
it appears to have happened suddenly..is your rubber seal still
in the right place??

Willie I have sorted the problem, underneath the floor latch I found a washer and then noticed another identicle one in the floorwell. so I replaced the latch along with both washers and lo and beold all was OK, funny thing was that the latch did not appear loose and the washers have only lifted the latch slighly but obviously enough to make it work so something must be a fraction out somewhere ?
