Being a new member to mmoc last year, i spent 6 months restoring my 6cwt van, which has been garaged for much of the winter. i today noticed, the 'rgf105 grille suround finisher chrome' has started powdering and peeling away. as this was supplied by a major national retailer and sold as 'premium' quality i would ask if others have suffered a problem similar to mine. i am concerned that if i approach the supplier i may get a replacement of the same poor quality. i believe this replacement job will take half a day and do not wish to repeat it within another 6 months.
Any help would be greatly appriciated!
Thank you.

Unfortunately you have become the latest member of a very long list for disgruntled owners of poor chromed parts. I'd send the item back together with a copy of your invoice, and stipulate that you are not happy with the quality, and wish to have a better product. I doubt however if you will get one as most of the trade use a central source for parts, so the situation will not be remedied by just trying a different supplier.

Excellent - I look forward to seeing samples
I was going to answer this earlier with much the same comments as everybody else, but was reuctant to lay the boot in too quickly. SR's got it right - stick with the old bits until you can find some old stock.

Well, I haven't got samples but I have seen the process.
What I didn't ask was the prices... I know I should have. I'm dutch after all
