Don't imagine it's critical - just pull it up tight with a decent ring spanner.

Thats a good question.Think the answer is to use common sense. Have looked in official manual,Haynes and Autobooks one and none of them give a figure. Have you tried Rob Thommason?

It would never cross my mind to 'torque' something like this - you develop (at least I have) a natural 'feel' for how tight something should be - and then just add a wee bit extra for luck!
