Does anyone know what the distance should be between tyre and bottom of wing on a saloon with 5 leaf springs??

nope, but then i have had vans where i have taken out 2 leaves to make the suspension a little softer, so i guess as long as they are are a fair distance from the rear bump stops

Well I thought the idea was 4 fingers width about 3" but that really only applies when new springs are used and most will settle after use.

You want about 1.5" from the bump stop to the pad on the chassis.
