Water Pump Morris 1000

Post by Arfron »

Does anyone know if the pipe fitting which screws into the water pump ,is the same thread /size which fits into the block ? ( By-pass hose screw - in fittings )
I can see the ' block ' threaded connector on the ESM site , but I need one to fit into the pump , ' cos ' mine is somewhat rotted , but pump is fine !! Arfron

I would have thought that if that part has rotted the rest of the pump is probably on its last legs, they are fairly cheap anyway, around £15 if I remember, also a good time to renwew the bypass hose as well with a piece of heater hose at the same time.

I really don't know - but I suspect you will have a terrible job trying to get the old fitting out of the pump. Pumps are not dear - i bought a new one on ebay recently for £1.99 !

Water Pump

Thanks for the repllies Kevin + and bmcecosse . Strangely enough the fitting came out fairly easily -- Plus gas + a few grunt using a vice !!

On reflection though --a new pump seems sensible especially if I can get one for £1.99. It must be cheaper in Ecosse ??
