The 6RA and 4 TR units were only used with the big old 11ACR alternator - and this was never fitted to a Minor !
You need to find what's not working - then the wires may turn out to have a use.

Are those wires you can't find homes for:

Blue
Blue/ white
Blue/red
Purple
Red

Just checking as it looks that way in the pic, but want to be sure (long day).

In which case, blue/ white is main beam or main beam warning light
Purple is permanent fused live (horn and interior light IIRC)
Blue is possibly headlight live (have a feeling blue/ brown is master lighting live)
Blue/ red is dipped beam
Red is sidelights

Depending on where the wires are trying to go, they could be for the lamps themselves, or the dipswitch, warning light and instrument illumination. And the purple is whatever always live you haven't plugged it into :)

If the 6RA and TR4 are alternator control units, then no, you don't need them (and I don't think they should be anything to do with the wires you've got hanging around anyway) as the Metro alternator has a built in regulator (like pretty much every one other than truly obsolete early types).

Steve....the Red wires go from terminal S1 on the lighting switch to
A. the panel light switch, B the front side lights and C the rear side lights
