hi all well i have been givern a 1275 engine
nice for the traveller
right i have a problem i have a 1098 flywheel that will not fit the rear of the 1275 due to the 1098 having 4 bolt holes and the 1275 having 5 with 2 locating holes
now can i take off teh bit were the flywheel bolts on or is it part of teh crank yes i can get a 1275 flywheel but i have 2 brand new ones in the garage so there for i want to use them insted of paying out again for a nuther flywheel

Most places will exchange your flywheel for a 1275 one mate
It's not that expensive (if I remember correctly)...
You could drill yourself if you've got enough accurate equipment to do so I'm guessing...

well i want to have ago but somthing is telling me not to as its not going to be normal 1275
i have waiting to go on it / twin carbs (possible) mg metro cam , a metro trubo ,mk escort diff and prop
i might have a go at drilling them as i do have a cuple in teh garage hidern away at teh back

Presumably, then, the flywheel had been drilled - I didn't look specially closely.bmcecosse wrote:But only two of the 4 bolt holes in a 1098 crank will line up with the 1275 crank holes - and two is NOT enough. You can either drill the flywheel, or get a 1275 one.
