Thank's a lot " Vilbrequin" , i'l try this ...

For most of the english people here ( not for long :D :D )
here is the traduction from Google

"It and possible that they know somebody which has Minor in the Paris area. They, they are in the Batch (46). In my opinion, a price of €9.500 is very élévée, even in France; for such a price the car doît being in a perfect state; and this noise about which you speak does not seem me typical whole! Good luck, nevertheless......"

Very clear ... :lol:

In fact vibrequin ( crankshaft ?) tell me to contact the french minor club and ask them if they know someone with a minor in Paris ( i've never seen one here )
and contact them for advices .....that's all ....no secrets

élévée being high, Lot is a departement. should élévee be written with two 'e's? Since prix is manly?

Back to Minors...

I like the french language as well, not terribly fond of French cars though, since the Simca-affaire

The "simca affaire " ????

Some french cars of the same period than minors are very interesting , Panhard for example

Haha, it's been a while since I last spoke/wrote french and I have a sneaking suspicion that message is more "franglais"! Also, I could never figure out accent keys. T'was just a plug to sell Snowberry, if anyone is interested.

about the simca-affaire, i had a simca 1301 automatic for two weeks, bought for £300 and sold for £35. sold to me by a friend of mine, who said it was quite a good car. It was completely and utterly rotten inside out. Both front wings were loose (rust!) It had no sills (filler!) no floors (again filler) exhaust was knackered, starter motor dead, brakes seized. Obviously no MOT. And I don't speak to the so called friend anymore.

End of simca rant

À kifemeuh: Bonne idée de s'adresser à Google pour l'arrière-traduction;

(Translation: Good idea referring to Google for the back-translation; pity that their system is so mediocre. Not picking-up the difference between "un lot" (a batch) and "Le Lot" ( the French county).... I ask you!
But it doesn't matter. In any case the Halls will probably have a contact for you, even if it's in one of the counties surrounding yours.)

To Onne: You are absolutely right about «élévée». It was my typographical error, attributable to fatigue: I posted the message at 01.22h (just like tonight).....

To: bigginger: Thank you sir/madam - excellent attitude!

To Matt: I see from your 'handle' that you spend term-time in Chiswick but are otherwise based in Southampton (home?): just 19 miles from a major cross-Channel port and you have no French at all? You should be ashamed of yourself; and who are "most of us"? Frankly, who cares? The reply wasn't for you.

The response was intended to assist a French "First-Timer" who was brave enough to attempt a posting in a foreign language: yours. It is simply a matter of politeness combined with efficacy to reply in his mother-tongue, by way of extending a welcome to the world of Minor enthusiasts. This particularly international approach has been a key feature in the development of the MMOC from its very earliest years and has been indefatigably promoted by 'MOTers' in particular for almost a quarter of a century.

As for your posting, I cannot help feeling that you should master correct use of punctuation, spelling and capital letters in your own language before attempting relaunch: best not to attempt running before you can walk.

vilebrequin, as previously stated in this thread, the budget should allow the purchase of an excellent car (somewhere in the region of concourse condition)

Due to the proportionally lower values in the UK perhaps importing from here might be a good idea?

as a response to your previous post;
Just 19 miles from a major cross-Channel port and you have no French at all? You should be ashamed of yourself;
Both myself and my brother (Matt) have some basic French language skills (albeit not to the same standard as your English). I have immense admiration for those who speak foreign languages to a high level and I am sure Matthew does too.
As for your posting, I cannot help feeling that you should master correct use of punctuation, spelling and capital letters in your own language before attempting relaunch: best not to attempt running before you can walk.
Please don't be too critical of spelling and punctuation as both me and Matt suffer from a learning difficulty called Dyslexia (I don't know the French translation.) I understand that it can make it difficult to translate, but we both try our best to spell and punctuate correctly.

This wasn't meant to be argumentative, so please don't take it in that manner.

Can we get back to the fun and games now?

We accept pretty much everyone regardless of language, race, political beliefs and sexual orientation. As long as they are pleasant, helpful individuals and help (or at least don't hinder) the smooth running of this messageboard.

Although (like Dan) I admire those who speak more than one language I also have to point out that this being an international messageboard that the language of use is English (British), so could I ask that any future messages either be in Engligh or have an English translation if it is meant for public viewing. If it is a private message between two individuals then might I suggest the use of the Private Message (PM) system. Thank you. :D

Lovely!

Kifemeuh, I did like the Simca, but I have since been addicted to Morris Minors (and Cornish pasties....). If I hadn't bought the Simca, I might not have looked into Morris Minors
