Make sure you check that it works in other than IE.

Or to put another way - it doesn't work well in Firefox!

Firefox is an alternative to Internet Explorer for looking at the web - commonly called a browser.
Some love it some hate it - just like most things in life.

However it is a very popular browser, I think the 2nd most popular so it is a good idea to make sure that your website works on it.

It's a free download - just Google for Firefox. I was going to post a link but as we run Linux it came back with the 'Firefox for Linux' download page which I guess wouldn't be much use to you.

Thanks forgot about Opera.
Have tried it but didn't get on with it.
Like I said about Firefox - some love it some hate it!
But you are right - web site builders 'should' check that their site works with as many browsers as possible.

That's probably asking a bit much for your site - but if you ever want it Mac tested, just let me or Multiphonikks or Chicken John. know. Then we'll start worrying about all the different Operating systems and browser editions too...

You firefox people don't deserve real internet!

What is all this with browsers? They're all the same. I was born and bred IE, and now that I've swapped my PC for an iBook I have to use Safari... surprise surprise Safari is pretty much identical in use to Explorer.

The Sefton Branch Website works fine, but loads of horizontal scrolling at 800x600.

(I know, 800x600 people don't deserve real internet.)

Why do you "have to use Safari"? I can (and do) use Explorer (not up-dated since 2001), Camino, Flock, Firefox, Navigator (if I'm feeling silly) or Pandora if I'm looking for pics, and there's a few other Mac ones about too.

I didn't mean that as 'forced to use...' so much as 'it came pre installed with...'. There's nothing wrong with Safari. If you covered up the toolbar, 99% of people (including me) wouldn't notice the difference between it and Internet Explorer. If it displays web pages, it's fine by me.

I only really bought a new computer so I could have an iPod and Sim City 4. And the one I replaced I'd only bought so I could run Sim City 3.

Sorry - too many years of talking to people in computer support departments telling me things like "you can't network Macs" and "there's no software for them" and being unprepared to accept that some of us DETEST PCs and only use them if we're forced to!

Just me rambeling......

Mac's are very nice, very pretty and do everything a computer should do - just differently. If you want a pretty computer then get an Apple - and pay the price!

Firefox - secure, free and better written than IE. Fact.

I have to use IE about once a week and do so in Windows (running dual boot systems) and my anti virus/spyware etc. goes mad.

Sorry but just my opinion!

All I suggest is that you try Firefox, it's free so you have nothing to lose, and if you don't like it go back to IE.
