been getting lots of bits for the rebuild lately from the same supplier ive used for 16 months now, why is it when u buy an item, like the engine mounting rubbers, they come with NO nuts, so with my next order , i paid for nuts only 2 find the chrome bootlid hinges [which i know will rust in 2 yrs] had NO nuts, jesus christ, theyre no good without em ,so say in the catologue they come without nuts ,or put em with the hinges for extra, u cant even use the old ones because they dont fit

AAAAAAARRRGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, DO THESE PEOPLE NOT WORRY THAT I COULD SPEND MY NEXT FEW HUNDRED QUID SOMEWHERE ELSE

Hear hear - order a new clutch operating rod 'cos the old one's broken (nuts gone/diappeared/vanished) and get it without the acorn and locking nuts, swear... a lot.

Yes, but next day delivery isn't much use if you can't use the part for want of the right nuts

I'm with you guy's, just imagine my frustration when I'm ordering about £2K of parts every month. Also when ordering panels, although my normal supplier knows how fussy I am about their quality, I'm sent these c---y foreign ones. When building any car, of any build cost how can these poor quality parts be passed off as suitable goods. The other good wheeze is for suppliers to send fine metric countersunk screws, in the hope that we will not notice that they are not UNF, the list really is endless.
One other question I have is why did Hadrian purchase Henrics and other panel houses tooling when they are determined not to make parts, prefering to bang out Escort and Fiesta bits. Let someone else have the tooling, so we can once again have quality British made tin work. Being synical, they may just be interested in closing down the market by owning the tooling, in the knowledge that no one company can afford to re tool. Rant over

I've been caught out by that nut thing too... especially the one on the clutch rod... luckily the old stuff fitted with a bit of modification..

A fine collection of rants, wholly justified IMHO!

Having learnt from experience nowdays I usually ask what I need to complete the whole job when I'm ordering unfamiliar bits from ESM. I suppose I've paid out for a few extra bolts & gaskets over the years but at least you get the job finished without having to re-order bits.

Me being lazy and all that decided I couldn't be bothered to make a template up and cut out the under dash sound deadening for the truck. So I ordered it from a well known centrally based supplier and what did I get........a big rectangle of sound deadeding material you cut to size yourself! Fantastic.
And I waited 3 months for it to turn up it!

On the panel front. I understood that when Hadrian took over HENRIC they found that a lot of panels were hand fettled by HENRIC and therefore they were in Hadrians eyes not viable financially to make. They should have found this out before they purchased the business.......but then perhaps they did!
